On November 13th, 2018, Will and Janie showed up for a simple day of volunteerism at a local community center. Little did the family of nine know, they had been selected as the next Habitat homeowners! These homes were being constructed in Fresno's Central Project west of the 99 freeway off of Shaw & Polk.

Molly Dorn

On November 29th2018, Molly was surprised to find they were selected as Habitat homeowners during a City of Fresno council meeting. Molly Dorn's husband passed three years ago, leaving her as the primary provider for her family. While pursuing a career in dentistry, she worked with volunteers to build her new home.

On May 30th, 2018, Samuel and Emira thought they were attending a meeting related to their application for homeownership. They were met with good news by representatives from Central Community Church, City of Fresno, Wells Fargo, and Habitat who came together to make their dreams a reality.

July 17th, 2018 was supposed to be just another day at work for Daniel and Nellie Loza at Grocery Outlet. To their surprise, during a staff meeting, they were met with news cameras and smiling faces! They were informed they had been selected as the next Habitat homeowners. What better way to spend a day at work?

Stephon & Chelsi Johnson

On July 6th, 2018, Stephon and Chelsi were selected as Habitat's next approval for homeownership. Their family had experienced recent and painful losses. In 2017, Stephon's sister passed away. In 2016, they suffered the loss of their son. This surprise marked a new season for Chelsi, Stephon, and their daughter.

Spencer

Infill development - Riverdale >

On July 12th, 2018, the Spencers received the keys to their new home in Riverdale, CA. Through a partnership with Habitat, the USDA, Fresno County, GJ Gardner, and Self Help Enterprises, homeownership became a reality. This new home with universal design is a particular benefit to their son with cerebral palsy.

On July 12th, 2018, the Garcias received the keys to their new home in Riverdale, CA. Through a partnership with Habitat, the USDA, Fresno County, GJ Gardner, and Self Help Enterprises, homeownership became a reality. Employed in agriculture with dreams of owning a home, this is a dream come true for Mr. Garcia and his family!

Growing up in Armenia, Mher Karapetyan always dreamed of building his own home. After 500 hours of sweat equity, his dream came true on June 23rd, 2018. A partnership with the City of Clovis, Tri-Counties Bank, and countless other community partners and volunteers made it possible.

Walipor Yang stated he never thought homeownership would ever be possible. Working a minimum wage seemed to make ownership a feat forever out of reach. On June 23rd, 2018, Walipor, his wife Kaying, and their eight children finished their new home as the 10th of 10 homes built in Rialto Ranch.
